CREATING NEW ECONOMIC HUBS IN AROUND KANO
Apart from the basic requirements for plant growth (good soil, water, warmth and sunlight) large commercial farms require a wealth of other criteria to be fulfilled. As the farms employ directly and indirectly hundreds of people and many subcontractors they need to be located in areas where such resources are available; generally near major transport routes and close to larger villages or rural towns.
Our first farm sites are planned in just such areas, in the Wudil area east of Kano and Kunchi area north of Kano. Here the crops are collected and stored, and later processed and packed allowing for transport for both local and more distant markets. All this activity creates employment and additional business opportunities for the local people and businesses. As the local income increases, local economy increases too.
